The good news is the WDSU interview has been shared in many other markets for lots of other pet owners to see. The goal is to get something positive out of what happened to Hotstuff. The way I'm doing that is by sharing his story through this website and Loving Hotstuff Facebook page as well as doing interviews, and advocating surgery checklists and veterinary licensure. Unfortunately, what you don't know can actually hurt your pet. Hoping people will become aware of additional questions to ask a specialist.
I've seen many comments criticizing the decision to euthanize Hotstuff and I understand why people would have questions if they don't know the whole story. I hope people will view this website and read the details and view the videos. My opinion is no dog should be euthanized just because he is blind. Hotstuff began to have another serious issue and I believed it was in his best interest if I chose end of life as a result of what I viewed as his suffering. Some may visit this site and still disagree. Everyone has a right to their opinion and if anyone wishes to discuss further, I can be reached by clicking the Contact tab or leave a comment here. What I don't want out of this is for people to think that if a dog is blind that he should be euthanized.
